The Green Man and Brown Mountain picture book
This is a wonderfully positive story. By sharing it we hope to inspire others to feel empowered. One person can make a difference and one person connected with others can make the world of difference -In this case: Saving hundreds of animals and plants by maintaining the magnificent Mountain Ash forests of Brown Mountain in East Gippsland, Victoria.
The story is based on true events of the journey of our nephew, Andrew Lincoln and how his love for nature as a child converted to greatness by taking action, individually and with others, to save hundreds of animals and plants of Brown Mountain in East Gippsland, Victoria. Their individual and group actions of tracking and mapping species filled the gap created by government departments that may have seen the mountain logged for wood-chips. Instead they discovered that the Long-footed Potoroo was still living there along with many other unique species and for their perseverance and dedication these were all considered in a landmark court case that finally saw the logging stopped and Brown Mountain saved just in the ‘nick of time’. A timely story to encourage nature conservation as we learn to look after our planet.
