Gracie's most recent series of paintings has been based on Australian children at play.
She was very inspired by her friend Beth's recent acquisition of a few charming paintings brought from a holiday to Vietnam. These sweet paintings depicted Vietnamese children at play.
Gracie wanted to share the special nature of Australian children at play: Being an early childhood educator she values play for the great benefits it has for children in learning about themselves and the world around them.
In this series of Australian children at play she captures and reminds viewers of the intimate moments of play and how interactions with objects, the natural world and with other children enhances children's development.
Gracie has drawn on her years of kindergarten teaching as well as her own daughters' play as guides to choosing the content and the emotions she wanted to engender with the paintings.
